A mechanical engineer and lean manufacturing expert, Philip Calhoun is a holder of three master’s degrees, one of which is in finance from New York University. Since 2015, he has served as the executive vice president of Total Quality Engineering, a company based in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Philip Calhoun enjoys sports, movies, and music, and his favorite entertainers are Michael Jackson and Prince.

Prince is an American rock icon whose career spanned nearly four decades. When he passed in 2016, he left behind a large volume of work that encompassed both music and film. He is best known for Purple Rain, a film and recording combo that won him both an Academy Award and a Grammy.

While he is known for the hundreds of songs he wrote for himself, Prince has also written songs recorded by other artists. The most famous was Nothing Compares 2 U, made popular by Sinead O’Connor in 1990. Other Prince songs that landed on other artists’ albums include Cyndi Lauper’s When You Were Mine, The Bangles’ Manic Monday, Chaka Khan’s I Feel for You, and Sheena Easton’s Sugar Walls.
